Description:
After years of repairing and altering furniture, this was my first project creating my own piece from scratch. I aimed for a minimalist and futuristic design, creating support with the lowest number of surfaces possible. I had to cut a slot in the seat at a specific angle with a radial arm saw in order to have the backrest pass through at the inclination I wanted. During the design process of the chair, I first sketched an idea before moving to Rhino to test variations of the design, and finally calculated the dimensions. Also pictured is the initial construction before glue, nails, veneer, or varnish.
